Temporary guardian of a minor citizen of Ukraine.

A temporary guardian of a minor citizen of Ukraine can be a person who is:

• a blood relative of the minor,
• a relative of the minor on the side of the father or mother,
• another person who can guarantee the proper performance of the guardian's duties.

An application for the appointment of a temporary guardian must be submitted to the district court at the place of residence of the minor. The application must be completed in Polish, which is the official language of the court proceedings. Samples of applications for the appointment of a temporary guardian, including a translation into Ukrainian, can be obtained from any district court, as well as on the websites of district courts and the Ministry of Justice. The submission of an application for the appointment of a temporary guardian is free of charge.

The court considers the case urgently, no later than 3 days from the day the application or notification of the need for the appointment of a temporary guardian is received by the court.
